He was an inspirational man who quickly gained the trust and respect of the rangers he trained and led, as well as the communities around the park. Reserved, yet always ready with a smile, Carlos had a career marked by many successes in protecting the people and animals of Zinave. Under his leadership the anti-poaching unit achieved triumphant milestones over the past few years that include removing the threat of thousand of snares and hundreds of rifles from the Park. The strategies that Carlos helped to put in place will enable the teams working on the ground to safely and passionately continue to protect their park with the devotion and commitment he was known for.
Your legacy will live on, Carlos.
Peace Parks would like to express its deepest condolences to Carlos’ wife, Teresa Muchave, and their three children, Dorca, Dulce and Carlos Junior.
